The Heart of My Story

Women's Health Coach, San Antonio

Catherine Richey at home at her desk.

I grew up within walking distance of the Panama Canal, in the small rainforest town of Gamboa — surrounded by fresh tropical fruits and vegetables grown in the rainforest, seafood from two oceans, fresh fish from the lakes, and the kind of meals that gathered people together without any fanfare. I didn't know it then, but the table was already teaching me everything.

I went on to become a first-grade teacher for Department of Defense schools in Panama and Puerto Rico, where I learned that community and consistency are the most powerful forces in a person's life.

Then I became a private chef — fifteen years of feeding people with intention, care, and the deep belief that nourishment is never just about food.

What you see today — the relationship, the home, the travels, the health — wasn't always my story. There was a season when my stress-management skills were nonexistent, when I was hurting myself in ways I didn't fully understand, when I didn't know how to love myself well. I had to learn. Slowly, imperfectly, and with a great deal of help. I know what it means to start over from the ground up.

I watched my father disappear slowly into dementia — isolated, robbed of language, diminished by a healthcare system that treated his symptoms but never saw him whole. That loss ignited my passion for brain health and for building the kind of trusted human community that clinical care simply cannot provide.

That journey — not my credentials — is the real reason I can sit across from a woman in midlife and say: I see you, and I know the way forward.

My Philosophy

I believe the misinformation ecosystem targeting midlife women is one of the most urgent health problems of our time. Women navigating perimenopause and menopause deserve evidence-informed clarity — not supplements sold by influencers, not lab tests that don't tell the real story, not a seven-minute appointment that addresses symptoms in isolation.

They deserve a table, a real conversation, and someone who has done the work to know the difference between what the science actually says and what is simply being sold.

That is what I built. There is a seat for you.

"Catherine is so genuine, so gentle. She celebrated my wins, reminded me to take baby steps, and helped me feel proud of myself again. Would I recommend her? Absolutely. Yes, she's an amazing chef — but once you work with her, you'll know her heart was made for this."
